LO1- Fox Movies

A)Purpose: The purpose of Fox Movies website is to advertise and promote its movies, as shown is a new movie coming out and there are options to get the tickets, watch the trailer or see a description of the film. It helps promote its movies by persuading people, this is done by the trailer, so the person might like the trailer and want to see it, and then they have the option of booking tickets which might make the audience want to book them as the option to do so is right there. The target audience for the website is ranged from teens to adults as Fox Movies make a variety of films which means there’s a more varied target for the website to be aimed at.

B) Visitor Needs: Its website allows you to follow their updates on different social media by easily clicking on a link, this is useful as someone maybe can't wait for a movie and so want updates on it and they can get them through the most popular sites like Twitter and Facebook. The website also gives you a little information on what the plot is so you can see what it's about, so this can help with the decision of whether they want to go and watch it or not.

C)Information Flow: Fox Movies website makes it so it's clear what the buttons and hyperlinks will take you to as it presents them in bold text, and mainly in the centre of the page they have a movie wallpaper that goes with the bold text, this makes it so you can see what the name of the film is and what it looks like, this makes it look more presentable and professional as the images are in top quality so it makes the page look nice too.

D) It has a few features like the social media buttons which let you follow them on them like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, which allows you to be kept updated on the films and other news.
It also lets you book tickets for films that are going to come out in the next week and the most anticipated. Finally it also lets you see which of their films are in theaters and what's coming soon.

F)Content: Above is Foxmovies.com in 2004, as you can see the content has changed widely, obviously movie wise but also information and accessibility wise. Now they have included a navigation bar which is missing from the 2004 website, which instead had boxes with links below the subtitles of what the links relate to, the links do the same as what the new one does, which takes you to the movies website, but on the newest version of the website it has the movies websites implemented into its own website. This is different because you had to go to the movies website to actually see about booking tickets, whilst in today's version you can book tickets from one click of the link. Then, unlike the new webpage, where the side scroll of images are smoother and are bigger, the 2004's website's side scroll of images was small and was automatically always going left, but it did let you control whether to stop it, or move it to the far left or right. Finally, the 2004 version was all cramped into the middle of the webpage, but this was because of the time the website was made, but now it uses all the space it can, with everything being more clearer and easy to navigate.
