A)Purpose: This websites purpose is to inform people of the news in the UK and the rest of the world, It informs on different subjects such as politics, science and entertainment news. The target audience is mainly towards adults as adults are the ones effected mostly by what goes on in the world, so they need this to know what’s going on and because its informing adults it is written in formal.
B)Visitor needs: This website lets the visitor easily look up news in there local area by just typing clicking on the 'Find Local News' button where it takes you to a page that you type in your post code and it'll show you the news in your area. The page also lets you choose what news subject you want which are located in the navagation bar and it will then link you to news about that subject.
C)Information flow: The page layout is quite clear as it has all the videos to go with some news at the side on the right as well as the radio stations that you can listen to online. The main story is at the top of the page in a bigger section that the smaller stories. The sections all have images that go with a headline of the story and a little description, when you click on it, it links you to that story so you can see it in greater detail. Finally, because the 'news' is a sub-website to the actual website 'BBC' it has another navigation bar that takes you to the other sub-websites of the BBC, like 'iPlayer' and 'TV'.

D)Features: This page has many features that some other pages do not have, for example the website, like I mentioned before has location device which can use your I.P address to find your location, you can also type in your post code and it will find your location that way, but if your on mobile it may use the GPS on your phone or tablet.
E)Benefits: The benefit of BBC having a website is that it needs to inform or educate otherwise they stop getting funding and then they can't keep running the website, so the benefit of the website doing what it does is that the page can be kept up.
F)Content: For about 14 years the BBC news website has been the same format, but as the times went on the BBC website we know today is much more presentable and colourful as to the website in 2001. The website now is also much wider than before as now they know how to code it so it's wider. Other similarities could be that back in 2001 you could watch videos and listen to audio features, but now they are better quality and you can listen to live audio like the radio. It has the main stories central to the page and smaller or minor stories at the side, on the other side their is a location feature similar to todays but not as complex or sophisticated, as it only lets you see news specific to a continent like Asia and Europe, but today it lets you see regions of a country like for the UK it will let you see news specific to Yorkshire, this shows that the website has come with the times as it informs better than it did when it near enough started in 2001. So in conclusion the content of the BBC News website has increased to better fit people who want to know what's happening in these times.
